SGOTM 23 - Unusual Suspects

I'm still unavailable for two weeks.

My wiev of ancient naval warfare are the same as yours kcd let the nets be pillaged and hide aby ferrygalley until peace.

The German copper? Yes, can't see sh!t!

I was just letting him put some turns into units that will never get finished, yea, that's it.:twitch:
Intended or not, it probably works in our favor, so nice job!:goodjob: Pillage that mine, gain the 8 gold or whatever, and laugh as Berlin starts from zero hammaers on a pathetic unfortified archer.

I have almost all individual turn saves.

The English fist showed up T95.

4t gone, I'd bet about 6 more turns we get dowed. So if we can finish Berlin/Lisbon before then, stellar.

Anyhow, I think we can build defender in LeHavre soon enough to avoid amphibious assault, so maybe upgrading the warrior is hammers we can save. But seriously, think about a galley from england coming across the channel in 6t or less. We can take risks, but they have to be good risks.

We could always cease fire with Fred at any point, or could go all the way here if we wanted to.
Spoiler :

You are showing a peace deal. Personally, if we get into difficulties, a cease fire is better (we gain nothing, but can resume war any time). OK, if we get into a tough spot with a Churchill dow, a peace deal might be better because it woud stop us for only 10 t which is less than needed to deal with England. Also, a peace deal means we cannot get demands from Stalin to join his war when he dows (asuming the target is Germany).

So I would shore up defenses at LeHavre, forget about our soon-to-be-pillaged nets, and whip units that can end the German war asap with us in posession of Berlin.

I think wait one turn to assemble stack, and dow Jaoa right away after that, irregardless of other on-goings. We will be in much beter shape when oceans protect our flanks. (And I would suggest getting MC for triremes and forges should be a prio after CS, but maybe by trade rather than self-tech). No probs trading tech to Monarch AI because they cannot keep up with our CS-powered juggernaut anyhow.:king:

Who's going to make the next PPP? I start working on Monday, which will not slow down my incessant chattering:mischief:, but will mean I can't be expected to actually execute a PPP before Wednesday, and perhaps Friday -if I get DOW'd at work by the French, and they are showing the fist.

perhaps Friday -if I get DOW'd at work by the French, and they are showing the fist.
Too funny!

I can play tomorrow, then I will be gone working for 5 days, only forum access.

4t gone, I'd bet about 6 more turns we get dowed
Does AI always wait 10 turns after fist for DOW?

Why not beg 10 gold from Churchill?

Only one more net (Nice), but why are you so sure German galley will win if we are on the net defending it with 10% bonus?

Don't forget to pillage Joao iron. ;)

I was advocating killing German units in Portugal before DOW. I'm OK w/ not doing that because of our catapults. We are better off IF they stay passively in the cities.

We need PPP before proceeding. swedes kcd & Zhary unavailable atm; nocho not heard from for a while. I'm not available today - will know about tomorrow when someone gets back to me.

The beg idea on Churchill is a good one. No downside, really. 10t reprieve would definitely give me a lot more comfort pursuing the aggresive plan that we must pursue if we want to catch up with our competitors (the other teams). We look well-placed to do so if we can manage the extraneous factors like an English attack at the worst moment.

I bam put together a PPP tomorrow, and the we can disvuss further, and if we agree on a plan, whoever had the time can execute (maybe I bribr my French co-workers too.)

Rdit. as for the galley, +19% is nor much, and the rng is not totally r when it comes to a unit built the same turn it fights. And even if we have 60% odds, its a lot of hammers to risk. We can live without the seafood, the priority is geting Berlin and ending the war by cease fire before the galley can do too much.

Only one more net (Nice), but why are you so sure German galley will win if we are on the net defending it with 10% bonus?
So I would shore up defenses at LeHavre, forget about our soon-to-be-pillaged nets, and whip units that can end the German war asap with us in posession of Berlin.
OK, I agree ending war sooner is more important than a net.

PPP Proposal "Aggresive with risk mitigators"

Duration - 10 turns with a pause in the middle after CS learned

City Builds
Try to keep cities to their happy caps on improved tiles.
2 pop whip when into

Paris - military (work cottages or let neighbor city do so)
Bordeaux - military(spear, axe, cat etc)
LeHavre - axe and archer for protection if can't get 10t forced peace with England
Nice - cats x2 > finish galley > WB's for later, depending on war progression
Athens - archer (move cr2 axe to Berlin) > spy > more military
Rome - archer for mp to fre up cr2 axe for Berlin>granary
Cologne . switch to archer to free up CR2 axe for Berlin

Worker actions,
Finish present improvement assignments, road to Berlin just n of mtns, chop forests, roads, Le Chin cottage at LeHavre

Tech path - 100% on CS
pause at CS to decide next tech, Metal casting perhaps?
posible to sell myst for 5 gold (don't do it, wait for Darius to finish teching it than sell him med instead? Sell sailing to Kublai for 30, or wait and hope he gets more cash?)

Diplo
Demand 10gold from Churchill, to hopefully get us 10t safety (and allow finishing CS at 100% in 5t)
Take Berlin and re-examine diplo and tactical situation, to decide on peace, cease fire, or more war with Germany.Refuse stop trading demands.
DOW Portugal on start of t100 (next turn, so chariot can defend against chariots) and capture worker, and isolate his other worker where we can snag it later.

Espionage
100% on Hatty
spy and galley head to egypt when safe to do so.

Military
Move stack+char 1S, then 1SE, then bombard Lisbon 1t while axe catches up, or just attack if the defence is weak.
Pillage German copper with cr2 axe, fortify c1 axe and spear, and bomb with cat until other units arive cat/axecr2 from Rome, and 2 axe from Cologne area arrive in 3t.

Pausing/Stopping conditions
Lisbon and Berlin captured
CS learned
See anything very unusual
Get declared on by someone

Don't forget to pillage Joao iron.
I think sell to Kubla.

We're number two!
:trophy2nd:

edit
I totally missed that. That means our borders will be with Stalin, and he will want to put his stack somewhere... most likely a very uncomfortable place for us. But we have time to prevent that. Anyhow, we should either eliminate or make peace with Germany before he vassals to Russia. Did he raze it???

Personally, I think we should take Oporto (maybe raze and resettle) and Munich, and just be done with the "we yearn for our mommies" unhappiness.

I can't play more for about a week, so pull up yur nig girl panties and step up. This is the fun part, after all.

And yes, revolt to Bur asap. That means right away, or if units are done this turn, let them finish and do it next turn. Germany and Portugal are toast. Just mop-up for now. Then Mehmed. The +diplo for mutual struggle with Stalin is useful, we should maybe get him to help out with other targets.

And we have cash for a lot of research, so what next? Maybe we eliminate the galley threat by destroying the opponents faster than if we do triremes, so perhaps we could do better with something else. Put your brains together and make the stuff happen!:king:

Looks great swede!

Revolt to CS?

Do we want to bee line Monarchy so we can revolt to HR at the same time? About a 4-5 turn delay, but we pick up a civic we will probably be in for quite some time.

Things are pretty straightforward.
But I will examine save this afternoon, make PPP tonight and play tomorrow with greens.
