Shaka AI - Impi bug or game mechanic... cmon Shaka

That is a bug! Happened with me as well when playing as Indonesia against Shaka. Luckily I had rifles & gatling guns.

There's a few similar things already in the game: AI missionaries being secret horse units and being able to move after spreading, for example. This is kind of going above and beyond though...

Shaka would be OP if his power didn't fall so much when things go gunpower.

Really? With his 25% gunpowder promotion stacked with all his XP and honor promotions and a GG nearby, these impi are as strong as my unpromoted musketeers.

I thought I would have the upper hand hitting industrial way before him and finally trying to push his borders back, but he's strong against the gatling guns too. An attack from two impi is redlining any one of my units.

I had to get to dynamite and wipe him out from long range with about 10 artillery just to take one city. Even then he was still pouring 3-4 new impi units into my territory every turn.

I've seen the action this thread is about too. Spear attack followed by melee attack, meaning my unit is redlined with the impi taking hardly any damage. My gatling guns were even taking a hammering in the jungles!

Jeez, these impi are an absolute pain. Immortal level btw.

I mean when he hits gunpowder and is no longer melee and starts ticking through the units he upgraded in those days.
