SHATTERED WORLD- The Trache

So what i begin here with is my mod, shattered world, which is brand new, and i am playing my first official game on it. I will be playing on the scenario's built in map, and i will be playing as the Trache civilization on Regent.

The Trache are similar to some native american civilizations, in the sense of how they view the world. The Trache view the land with respect and wish to rid the world of corrupt monarchies, because frankly, they just can't get along. They see their point of view not as right, but logical and moral. From that foundation, they base their journey, which you will witness. Their traits are Expansionist and Agricultural. Now it's time to take the reins as Bear Starchanache (their leader)...

Chapter One

Here is the starting point for the Trache:

4000BC- The Central city is named Ojache Valley, a small valley in the Ojache region. It is uneven terrain, dotted with forests and bordered by desert. A river cuts through, providing the Trache with fresh water to drink and grow crops with.

I begin with a scout and a worker. The scout heads south to go look for other empires and new lands. The worker creates a farm on the cow resource adjacent to Ojache Valley. It is ordered to produce warriors since we only have one scout for now until we discover a way to make more, so warriors will provide exploration for us. We begin to research ceremonial burial, so we can build temples and develop a religion for Trache people to place their faith in.

3800BC- To the south, our scout discovered a narrow mountain pass that leads out of Ojache and into a jungle area. We have 3 warriors out and about now, exploring Ojache. To the north there is a lot of forested mountains.

3600BC- A warrior of mine passes through the northern forests of Ojache and reaches a large body of water which may be the ocean.

3450BC- We discover Ceremonial Burial and begin making a temple in Ojache Valley. We then research alphabet, so we have a way to communicate.

3250BC- Ojache Valley produces a settler from it's palace. Janaranche is built to the southwest, by a mountain border and a meadow filled with cattle. The Trache empire and Ojache surrounding it:

2630BC- After a relatively uneventful period of exploration, we discover Alphabet. The warriors who are scouting are whining about being hungry and want a way to store food. Since our current objective is to scout optimally, we agree to research pottery. Some tribesmen in Ojache Valley have been building floating objects and say that if we can get a city built on the coast to the north, we would be able to explore the great seas with these new things called "boats".

2590BC- After passing through the southeast jungles, the scout discovers an empire who are called Kuwary. The city we found is on a strip of land bordered by two bodies of water, and the people there seem like hard workers. They are slashing away at jungles to clear space for farms. They seem a bit more powerful than us, but we have five times as much wealth as they do.

To the north, while exploring a peninsula, some men on a boat greet out warrior. They claim to be from the Zekayag empire. They have a rich culture and already have boats snailing around in the waters. They seem a lot nicer that Kuwary, but also their leader is a strange man. It's fine though, since now we have an accurate way to gauge our progress.

2550BC- Ojache Valley produces a settler and we have our eyes set on a thin isthmus outside of Ojache region. After a mountain pass, we shall arrive to the destination:

On the right side of the image, i placed a small map if you can see it, containing 1-Zekayag, 2- Kuwary.

2510BC- A small tribe we stumble upon in the jungles teaches up Bronze Working, which gives us the ability to produce spearmen, like the Zekay ones we saw patrolling the coast earlier.

2430BC- We learn pottery, and begin researching Writing, so we can communicate better with Kuwary and Zekayag.

2390BC- Lajnaha is founded on the canal area, and immediatel begins producing boats to explore the oceans.

2150BC- We discover a third empire:

They are called Trantmore. Not much is known about them, other than that they reside across the sea from Ojache on a peninsula.

1950BC- Another settler is spawned from the palace in Ojache Valley. It is sent directly north along the river to build a new city. A warrior exploring to the south of Lajnaha stumbles upon a worker who claims he is from Khard. He says the Khardi Empire is located to the south.

1910BC- After passing the Khardi worker, we meet a scout from Fighned. He also claims to come from the south. Intrigued, i begin sending my warriors south to search for their empires.

1870BC- Cheranja is founded along the river to the north and a local tribe gifts us with Warrior Code, and people in Ojache Valley are already drawing their bows and practicing archery.

1830BC- A great dicovery! We have learned Writing finally! It is doubted that anyone we know of has the skill to write, so we begin by building an embassy with Kuwary to see how it works. Our next research target is Philosophy, which is rumored to bring us to a higher level of knowledge.

We look at Kwur'Rwassa, the Kuwary capital, and it is LOADED with Spearmen and Warriors. Good thing there is months long jungle walk between us, or Trache would be in trouble. :(

1725BC- For a good abount of time now, we've had curraghs exploring the oceans and we have concluded that there is a large sea separating a nothern and southern landmass. We will call the sea the Lajnaha sea, due to the canal we have in it.

1700BC- Problem:

Zekay troops march through the pass and i am VERY unprepared. I hurry up and get all of my cities to produce some spearmen to try to hold them off when they arrive. They only have four troops heading my way, but i don't want to take a risk. If i lose a city this early, it would be a big problem.

On a more joyous note, i meet a small band of nomads who teach Trache mysticism. Great! :)

We also meet someone in the far west of the Lajnaha sea, named Pyrafa. The Pyrafa live on a peninsula with calm plains and they don't seem like they'd be a threat.

More Zekay troops pour in through the west pass and a chariot clambers through the south pass, into the desert.

1675BC- Philosophy is learned! Along with that, we are awarded map making as our higher knowledge. We embark on the wheel now, curious after seeing Zekay chariots.

1650BC- Across the the Lajnaha sea from Pyrafa, we find Bricolon. They seem quite strong, good thing they are far away!

1625BC- Saw it coming:

Now i have a bunch of spearmen frantically rushing around Ojache trying to guard my cities. Cheranja is especially doomed because it has one spearman, and due to poor roads (damn rivers and their turn penalty), i cant funnel more spearmen in. So, yeah i'm pretty much in bad shape for this war. Good news though, their initial attack with a Chariot on Janaranche fails.

1600BC- My spearman ambushes the crippled chariot for a victory! Over at Charanja, i will need crazy luck to win the (2 spears vs 2 warriors, 2 archers, and 1 spear) matchup.

1575BC- Crazy Luck:

81703954.png

I had a warrior tailing them through the pass and he defeated one warrior and was killed by an archer. Then the spearman fortified, the warrior destroyed an improvement, and the last archer, the only one to attack the settlement, was defeated by my spearman. CRAZY LUCK I TELL YOU!

Now i have time to build roads and beef up Cheranja's defenses.

I learn the wheel, and now it's time for Masonry since it's the quickest research on the list.

1550BC- 8 Spearmen in Cheranja. #Getatme

1525BC- Their second wave seems to be on its way.

Ojache Valley creates a settler which is on its way to the coast west of Charanja.

1475BC- Masonry is learned, and now i reach for Iron Working, so i can have swordsmen, which are far superior to any Zekay archers and horsemen.

1450BC- Far up the coast from Trantmore, i find the Frossmaw empire. They seem a bit tougher, given that they live in a colder climate, and they are proud owners of the Pyramids.

Janjanafo Woods is built where i specified earlier, and it begins working on a temple.

1425BC- On the other side of the north landmass, up the coast from Pyrafa, i find the Blocquair Empire. They live in a heavily wooded area, and look pretty weak.

1400BC- Oh it's on!

The second part of the war is about to happen!

Zekayag strikes, and i win 3 battles, lose 4. Charanja stands strong.

1375BC- 4 wins, 0 losses for that turn, overall, for the entire war since that chariot rolled into Ojache sands, i am at 9 wins, 3 losses.

At that record, i wondered if they even wanted to fight anymore. I speak with their leader, Gkyanakyro, and he says he will cough up all of his 143 gold for peace. Works for me. :)

That concludes the first chapter of Shattered World- The Trache.
