Hey, if you have 8 cities making only 1s per turn does that give you 1g (prior to Econ) or does that round to "0" eight times and give you NOTHING!

:)

If you build wealth, you will get a minimum of one gold for each city building wealth. So if you have 8 cities with 1 spt all building wealth, that would give you a total of 8 gpt.

If you set any city to wealth, no matter how corrupt it is it will always generate at least one coin. So if you have eight "one shield" cities working on wealth, then yeah, you'll get 8 gold.

Don't bother generating wealth.....

Yep, a very good thing to do when you ICSed 300 cities and you aren't producing anything with them. Add a scientist to all those cities, and you will be 4 turn researching at low science with tons of gpt income.

Yeah, I was going to add that ICS was probably the only situation where it would be useful, but if you've managed to ICS 300 cities, in all likelihood you've probably won the game anyway :p

I discovered last night that you do get a minimum of 1gpt. So the correct answer to the original question is 8gpt.

At this point it's not a matter of if we will win the game but when. There are certainly needs in the ICS cities, of which there are very many, but there are also needs to workers. So I just need to farm a balanced amount of wealth, mix in scientists and revenuers and pop the occasional worker.

Thanks for the input. Mystery solved.

Not true - it can be the best thing to do with totally corrupt cities that are useless for anything else...coupled with specialists they can be made into contributing members of your empire. :)
