Hey! Ive been playing civ 3 off and on since it came out. Is it worth buying conquests? Does it change the gameplay and the ai enough to make it worth it? gtg, thanks!
The game engine isn't changed, just new stuff is added, the AI might have been tweaked a bit though. It is a good game though, and worth it. For $20, it's good - you get 14 new civs, new units, new terrain. Don't buy Play the World, though. Conquests comes with it, so if you get Conquests, you get them both.
No, not the end of thread frostbite. I want to know more. Does c3c come with new rules or ways to play the game? Can you still play the original Civ3? Are there more of these:
AA- its quite simple.. i know you just love using that smiley.. but its all down to the random number generator in combat, meaning EVERY unit has a chance, however slight.
Yeah, I admit it that I just love that smilie. But there is one reason that I asked that question. I was wondering if whether if the attack and defence of some units changed or not and how this affected gameplay. I doesn't matter that much now because I checked out that thread you recomended, PB2triple0.
yea its just amazing.. simple little tings help so much.. like a symbol next to a city that still has resistors, or being able to beat units up and enslave them into becoming a worker! sweet as!
C3C is much easier to modify (aka mod) than vanilla civ 3, so if you don't like the original rules it's a must have, IMO. It's much easier to make different scenarios.
There's been some rule changes in regard to vanilla, but the biggest difference is the new civs.
Plus in Conquests if you want to make a scenario you can actually put civilizations where you want them to be on the map and they will show up there every time you play that map.
