Should I get Alien Crossfire?

Right, I've been playing Alpha Centauri for a long time and i just thought I would ask whether the Expansion is any good and if yes where I can get it.

The differences in Crossfire are subtle. The main thing you'd notice is the new opponents. Your pool of playmates more than doubles and something like that can make the game fresh again. At least that was how it was for me when I finally tried SMACX after years of playing the original.

Faction editing may also be easier to get started on with Alien Crossfire, and that's pretty fun as well.

Hm, yeah they do... only I can't seem to install Xfire. (AC works fine.)

I've bought it and it is great!
I like the new factions and the new alien things.
The new structures seem to definatley shift the balance of power more to the sea and there are some interesting new secret projects and techs.

But who is "The Betrayer" that is mentioned in quotes by Cha Dawn and when you first meet the aliens?

The Betrayer is a Progenitor named Kr’lann who apparently defected to the Planet Cult early on or some reason, and was key to humans making the conceptual breakthrough to understanding the new alien technologies. That’s all that’s ever revealed in the game as far as I know. Maybe there’s more if you play the Cult with the interludes on- I’m not sure I’ve ever done that…
