Should Religions have traits?

I suppose they will be moddable, and we'll able to bypass political correctness once we'll have the game in our hand.
I'm curious which religion -- islam, christianity or judaism -- is going to be tied with the discovery of monotheism. I'm assuming it'll be judaism since that's the "first" one. I would be more interesting if the 2nd civ to discovery mono gets christianity, and the 3rd civ to discover monotheism gets islam.. (though it'd be more accurate with islam, since islam replaced polytheism for the arabs)

We Already know the answer to that question, Minger. Its:
Monotheism=Judaism. Theology=Christianity. Code of Laws=Islam.
I also believe that Meditation=Bhuddism. Philosophy=Daoism. Beurocracy=Confuscianism. Polytheism=Hinduism.
Thats all seven present and accounted for. Personally, I think we need more. A few extra Polytheistic faiths (Ossirian, Hellenistic, Celtic and South American), as well as Shinto, Vodoun and Zoroastrianism would be good.

IMO the best way to deal with religion is to make it possible for the 'founder' state of a religion to determine the benefits of it, eg start Christianity and select it as giving a militaristic bonus. This would allow gamers to cover the weaknesses of their leader or bolster their strengths, and on the plus side it would be representitive of how religions developed in the real world (and removes balancing problems of different religions= different bonuses).
In game terms it would mean your enemies could gain your advantages by adopting your religion (also as a further thought, why not have it so that you can change the bonus of your relgion when you discover each religious tech eg change from militaristic Christianity to economic Christianity when you discover Code of Laws, rather that setting up Islam as it suits you, again indicative of real life religious happenings)
Obviously not all relgious sentimentality will be satisfied by this, (some might be offended by even the possibility of portraying their religion as one for sociopathic warmongering nutters) but it would probably be acceptable as it does not judge a religion
