Show what Techs the AI can Research

A bug was just reported at the HOF discussion about the domestic advisor in the HOF mod. Apparently, the 'can research' techs that are shown for the AIs are wrong. I tried to start a generalized discussion on what techs should be shown on this screen (here) with the upshot that a thread about the HOF mod is not the correct location for such a discussion. Fair enough ... lets have it here.

My take is that the only information that you can use to deduce what the AI can research is that what you learn from the diplo screen, what you already know and what you can research yourself. So, to me, that would mean that I ask the system what the AI can research and remove any tech that I don't know or that I cannot research myself.

I didn't change any code in the domestic advisor. There is a mod of the foreign advisor (link) that produces the screenshot you showed. I didn't put any code in this mod either. However, a bug has been reported in the HOF thread that illustrates that there is some coding problems in the foreign advisor.

This thread is currently aiming at discussing 'what techs should be shown' - not 'how do we show those techs'. We don't need to reproduce (or understand) your long 'if statement' because the game already has a function that supplies the techs that you (or any other civ) *can* research.

So, without going into the code - what do you think we should show with regards to what the AI can research.

You might want to show all techs the AI currently does not have on the basis that the AI can research them, but maybe not right now
