ShowTechSplash window on 1.52

I've installed the update and tried loading a game that I saved under 1.09 and it all looks okay apart from a small window saying 'showTechSplash' but nothing at all works after that other than Alt F4.

I'm at work and so was just testing this to ensure it functioned. I have not tried starting a new game yet.

Any ideas ?

Sorry about starting a new thread, I looked through the main patch thread but cannot search and have seen no reference to this issue elsewhere.

Well, I'd assume that your installation is horked somehow, but it might be that changing

NoTechSplash = 0

to

NoTechSplash = 1

in the Civilization4.ini file "fixes" it - just a guess, though.

It seems that I have a similar problem, i posted it here. I got a popup that says "showEraMovie", i tried different values in the ini file, on other PC's the "bug" is reproducable.

I can't do nothing than opening the Task Manager end exit Civ IV...

I opened the previous save and that one worked fine.

I suspect that the problem is that the save with issues was done just after the turn finished processing the other civs and so was presumably trying to show me a message about a new technology that I had discovered. It is possible that the popup boxes work slightly differently in the new patch than in the old one...
