Hello everyone. I am new to the forums, but have been a fan of Civ for almost 12 years now. Last December I received Civ IV, and I was very thrilled. However, I was immediately disappointed because my computer's video card prevented me from getting any long lasting enjoyment from the game. Just a few days ago, my family got a laptop with a video graphics card that would finally allow me to play Civ IV without the game freezing itself. Now, things moved smoothly at first, but then we got another problem, which made it so that the game would close itself after an hour's play. However, we figured that out (it was a setting on the laptop). During this little predicament, my father downloaded a patch because he thought that was the problem, but it wasn't, but we have the patch now anyways, so I guess its okay.
However, now, whenever a wonder is built, we get a message that says "showWonderMovie." It won't let us escape that particular message (won't allow you to click on anything). It just stays on the screen. However, the game doesn't crash or freeze. You can still see the units moving in the background, and the task manager says the game is running fine. I am at a loss on what to do, and I really just want to get back to my world conquest.
My question is simple. Basically, is there any way to get past this message? I have already looked at the forums for similar posts that may help me, but they didn't do me any good. And if there is a way to fix this, is it simple? Because I don't want to create or switch program files around or anything like that.
