Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri AI Generated Images & Upscales

User Damjan has posted over on the SMAC players facebook group pictures of SMAC colonists first arriving and inspecting Planets red fungus using AI generated images that look very cool!

Trekking the fungal forests, the colonists found their new home. It wasn't Earth but it wasn't the cramped quarters of the spaceship either.
Perhaps they can grow trees here since the soil is so nitrate rich. Perhaps planet won't mind it.

Damjan has also posted on facebook some cool AI (Dalle2) generated images of Zakharov & Morgan! Some of the stuff the AI comes up with is pretty awesome but also kinda funny lol.

A number of years ago Damjan also used machine learning AI to upscale the SMAC intro sequence video too. In some parts it goes well, other parts (ie the bits with film noise) not so much, although it maybe might better if he tried again these days as AIs are getting so good.

Damjan has got an AI to generate a mythical SMAC2 cover which looks pretty awesome other than the spelling errors lol. Needless to say some of the responses were not so positive as people felt genuinely tricked.

Damjan's been busy again with some really awesome AI upscales.

These looks great except Miriam looks quite chaddish lol. Morgan face looks too different from the original, Yang too but it doesn't bother me that much. Santiago got a black scorth mark on her face. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
