Sid Sells Out? Sells out what?????

The cusomer IS boss, though.

And I believe a lot of people that spent their money on this game are a little bitter and likely won't shell out the next time.

In fact, I think that's obvious given the venom being spewed in the civfanatics forums.

I happen to like it and will take it down off the shelf and dust it off when MP is released. As bitter as I am about what I percieve as crappy support, I do love the game and, once MP is out, I'll buy it and ruin my life once more playing it 40 hrs a week ;)

I also think/hope sid and co have learned their lesson (how could they not have thanks to the great responses in these forums with people putting thier issues out there).

How else is the civ team supposed to know what the people that play the game want????????

You know, Vodoo - I'm right with you.

When this game was releasesd, sure it had its bugs but really, that's to be expected. What I didn't expect was Firaxis tight lipped policy of approaching the subject. Their support was just awful.

So when the patch was released, next thing you know they were all over the boards chatting people up. But here's where they really lost it for me -

They came across as really arogant people like they were bestowing a favor on you by answering your inquiry.

Don't get me wrong. I dig Civ all the way, but these people made themselves look like a$$holes and I was defending them a few weeks back. One guy from Firaxis- I think his name was Dan - was telling a board member not to label a topic "MAJOR BUG" because it distracted him from the real problems.

Sure, the bug wasn't major, but come on - this isn't real time. This is a BB board. And the board member can post whatever he feels like. I mean, this place isn't owned by Firaxis.

Lets hope for Civ 4 they realize we pay their salaries and be open to comments, critiques, and suggestions rather than tell us what they think is good for us.

It's called "Electronics Boutique". They have this thing called "10 day money back guarantee". That means if you want to return the software, you may do so for any reason within 10 days of purchase, for a full refund or an exchange if you'd prefer.

I can walk into EB and say "This game is a load of bollox" and they'll smile and offer me a refund. And *that* is why I always buy my games at EB. Good solid customer service.

What you say has been my expireance, however... If the game has a key, such as EQ or Diablo2, they won't take it back.
