I used the standard patch to update my version from E to H gives me a program execution error when i start a game. However, Standard BTS and Fall Futher both work fine.
The crash takes place after i select my game option and always at the start of the intialisation phase. When i tab back to windows i can see the "Program Execution Problem" dialog box which says "This program has encountered a problem and needs to be closed. Do you wish to save a diagnostic file?"
I have tried rebooting my machine, redownloading and applying the patch but nothing seems to work. I am trying to avoid having to re-install civ 4 / bts / all the patches etc and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions of things i could try instead.
I use windows 2k, i have played FfH without any major issues for the last few months. The civ/bts game is a 100% legal, store bought copy as is the Operting system. The machine is normally pretty stable and i have no other application (not even anti virus) running on the machine while i play CIV.
