I have a question concerning an audio problem I'm experiencing with CivIII. After starting the game the sound effects work normally but after about 30 minutes of play the sound begins to distort. The sounds become corrupted with a hissing, sizzling static which is very annoying. I also noticed the problem when playing another recent game purchase "Commandos II".
I'm running Win98, GEForce2 MX400 graphics card, SoundBlaster PCI 64 and a subwoofer set up. I've dnlded and updated the most current drivers with no noticeable improvement. I've also tried turning off all background programs before playing also with no improvement.
Other than this one problem the game has run flawlessly. Any ideas would be appreciated.
