When it is my turn, I do what I planned with the active unit.
If I did plan NOT to move that particular unit, I press space bar.
But my army is growing big and there are turns when I don't want to move any of them. Is there a quick way of skipping those units? Sometimes I have to press spacebar 10 or more times. I thought by myself: "there must be a quick way of doing this" :D

Just fortify them (F-key). You can wake them up again when you need them.

In the bottom right hand part of the screen, there is an oval shaped button near all your info (Government, gold, gold per turn, tax and lux rates, etc). If you click that, it skips your turn (as if you have pressed spacebar for each unit!) It is a good time saver.

Thanks again guys. Always when I ask a question overhere, I have an answer in lesser than an hour :) Great!

In C3C there is also the 'sentry' option. Not quite sure what it does, but at least in Civ2 it meant your unit would immediately get activated once an enemy unit came within striking distance.

Sentry makes it so when another civ's unit comes in a square next to it, it will active (ie; out of it's sentry mode). Sentry for only enemies is when it will only activate when a civ's unit you are at war at comes next to you. Never used them, but I guess they could come in handy.
