Skirmisher Icon

Does anyone know what the symbol on the icon tag for the skirmisher is? The dog for the scout, sword for the swordsman, bow and arrow for the archer... all make sense but I cannot figure out what is on the icon tag for skirmisher. My best guess is a tied neckerchief.

Yes. It's a handkerchief. If you look closely, the unit figures have them tied over their faces like Old West banditos.

For a while I thought it was a beard, like they were riding into enemy territory in disguise.
