Slow installation?

Greetings one and all. I bought civIII just yesterday, and upon attempted installation found the disc vibrated like nobodies business and installation stopped because (I assume) the disc couldn't be read. I eventually sorted this problem out by tilting the computer slightly, but when installation did proceed it took what seemed a long time.

I installed the typical install - 650 odd meg. This took around 10 minutes, which seemed rather long compared to comparable sized programs I've installed in the past. The game does however seem to work, but I'm just hoping I don't run into problems later...but as the game *has* installed, I assume I'm okay(?).

If it's a new computer, you may have some hardware problem. Otherwise you may need to defrag your HD.

It took me quite a while to install compared to other games as well. Not quite 10 minutes though. The disc seemed to do a lot of spinning and very noisily, sounded like a bloody plane taking off at one point. It takes age to load as well, although thats probably due to lack of RAM on my system.

I should be very interested to see how a computer with the minimum specs handles the game.
