,Civ4 is nice very nice but it has the same problem as the previous versions and that is if the game mature it gets awfully slow-very slow.On a P4 2.6 machine with a 1GB ram and a 256 MB graphics card this should not be ths case.
Am I doing something wrong or is it part of the culture?
It's part of the culture. Can only recommend you try and reduce some of the memory usage, ie. use low graphic details and shut down any other programs running in the background. I would say your CPU and RAM is good enough as it is, what is the video card?
I have a Geforce fx5500 card with 256MB ram.It should suffice, although I do not see the revelance of the video card if the game itself is slow. Waiting up to two minutes makes the game very boring. I wish the game could be speeded up during the"waiting for the other nations'' time. They can do what they want to in the background as long as it does not involve my units.
