SMAC Mod?

Is anybody actively working on it? I've been wanting to do one, but I don't really have the time to dedicate full-time. Also I'm sure (or at least I hope) that there are a few people working independently on this. Perhaps if that's the case, we could form a SMAC team?

A very impressive game. It has a surprising number of Civ IV's features, and even a few that Civ IV lacks.
