Snipers????????

thx ace i was gonna say the same thing. I would love to put him in a ghillie suit. it would look really cool :D but untill i can get my hands on a nif editor and figure it out i cant do it unfortunately :cry:

basically he is a scout during peace time, very handy as u can place him right next to a target city;) then when u declare war he acts as a infantry extreminator. He cannot capture cities though so you need to back him up quickly with support troops. While it may seem abit overpowered the fact that you can only deploy 3 at a time ensures that snipers can win the war before it has begun :p That said if its depoyed correctly in a critical city it can turn the tide very quickly!! Im currently tinkering with the idea of a earlier unit to upgrade to the sniper called the Sharpshooter using a modified Redcoat skin, let me know what you all think :D


Snipers should not be able to destroy enemy units. One small group of snipers cannot destroy a whole army.

Because Civ is on such a large scale, things like support artillery, snipers, etc are already factored in to the military unit. A better option might be to make a special forces unit which relies MORE on the sniping and stealth, but would still maintain a similar perspective as far as unit size.

sorry bro is a bit late, as i have already released the mod and have moved on to better things ( not quite as ambitious as a sniper unit :p but still fun) so there will be no future updatges of this unit, i have played many games with this unit as is and I have found it to be not too overpowered as I only ever deploy 3 at a time even the small civs that I might go to war with can still defeat it, so in answer to all the critics of this unit I say :p it does exacty as I wanted it to do :) sorry for rambling ohhh btw deja I DO have a sepcial forces unit in a separate mod that I created to counter the sniper so when they are paired up against one and other they are not over powered at all. Food for thought . :crazyeye:
 
Yeah, I realized after I posted that this thread dates back a while.

the post is in the completed mod paks section, there is also another sniper unit that has been created in the unit grphics section, however i had nothing to do with it, check em both out and see what u think of them both

Aranor,

Everyone knows that snipers can strike from a distance.
