Hi everyone, i would just like to know some stuff for my 3D models, after I create them whgat is the polycount most appropriate for a unit(amount of faces, tri's, edges, etc...), do they have to be textured or UV mapped in the game, are They required to have animations?

Thanks everyone!

Edit: does it have to be one Mesh or not?

The capacity, quality, or fact of being patient.

You waited 2½h to get answers to questions related to a tool that has been out about a week. It's possible someone do know, but they are not going to be online 24/7 to answer peoples questions.

Hi Killamike718,

You are looking at a polycount of about 350 per model (600-700 faces), for a set of 3 (like 3 Swordsmen or whatnot), and for single units I would stick to max 500 polygons.

Textures do not need to be UVW Mapped, but they will always look nicer with good texturing.

Animations are not a requirement.

As far as I am aware, you can use more than one object as well.

Have fun!

so you can put in a unit, if you only have created a .NIF file? i tried this on existing unit once, but i didn't feel like changing too much (yeah i know, i'm lazy) and every time i got the original unit (probably because of the .KF files). my main idea was to replace the tank model with my own (ugly :)) tank, but the animations probably replaced the .NIF file (or am i just talking BS)
