Somethings Not Right Help Please

Hi I am using civilization 1 for dos version 475.01
Whenever i get to the top of the northamerican continent on the west side my screen goes crazy all bright lights
i am playing earth and after my guy retires the map actually changes and this glitch doesnt happen until i retire and the map changes. More land actually gets added on to the map (good land for building cities) Please help me!!!
I dont know if someone has already had this problem and posted it i tried to look through all the postings?
OH i have just built a city on this land and it really is good land for building citys its too good!!!!! it gives me so much food and production it causes pollution within a couple turns of me building the city what is going on here ??????????????????????????????

There is nothing you can do, really. This bug occurs on all versions of the game, but more so on the early versions. 475.01 is actually the Beta (shift+56 cheat!, see cheets page) but it can be bad for bugs. I would recommend version 02, or 05. 05 has the least bugs, but it also has some wierd features that nobody really likes.

The bug is solved in WinCiv1. I had a population of 114,000,000 and 144 future techs and all cities maximized and everything worked normal.

Winciv is an almost completely recoded version of civ1 which has many subtle differences from the original. If you have to play winciv to escape that bug, it's not worth it in my opinion
