Finally got BtS and decided to play as Darius. Monty was my crazy neighbour so bring out the guns I thought. After a good fight I took his capital. I then realized that he had all the forests saved and it just hit me, this is going to be a phenomonal national park city. In the end it looked like this:

Although I am cranking out culture like mad I still had about 5 revolts in this city after taking it. I thought that was not possible anymore in BtS since Monty was my vassal?

It will not flip to him - since he is a vassal, and you can work the bfc. But the city will still have revolts if under pressure from him... A somewhat :dubious: mechanic.

I always make sure to have one city surrounded by forests for the day that I'll get a National Park. :D

Damn Dave, 50%. That is a lot. I even culture bombed it when I took the capital using the trick with all the artist specialists present. I needed till the end of the game to reach 51% Persian so that explains it. Thx.

@Milly: I guess that was Monty's idea too. Too bad I took his national park city

The screenshot was my last turn before space victory. Because of the high culture output it apparantly finally raised enough. But I had about 400 years of revolts going on. But long live the sistine chapel to boost culture. Even when I build the eiffel tower I got a revolt  and I had 12 specialists already at that time.

that's why taking cities early is so good...
you don't have to deal with ancient culture.
