I was playing as the dutch in around 100 BC, and the Sumerians were my neighbors. I noticed a buildup of of Enkidu warriors on my border. I started building units, but I was too late. They declared war on me. The funny thing is, a galley was the firts to attack me. They attacked my city of The Hague, and the unit animations of the galley played and everything. Of course, the galley lost. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have seen Byzantine Dromons do this. They have bombard capability. I don't recall ever seeing a Galley attack a city; however.

Were there actually units in your city, or was there just a ship? Because I think that a boat can attack a city directly if there is only a ship in the city...if I am not mistaken.

No, I don't think that is possible.

No I had about 4 swiss mercs.

I've seen this before, but only in unpatched C3C. While it's never mentioned in bug fixes, I saw this at least twice before 1.02 came out, then never saw it again. Just download either the 1.15 or 1.22 patch and it shouldn't happen again.
