kael could you please tell us how the soul forge and the demons gate calculate hammers and beakers?

i think i found the answer to my own question ... am learning to read python i guess......

soulforge = exp +10 in hammers

demons gate = (level x level) +10 in beakers

knowing this it seems kind of interesting to know the thresholds of use. taking the demons gate for example an playing as the shiam you can get the best possible results using ritualists. a ritualist cost 120 hammers so you would need to earn over 60 beakers to break even. knowing this we would need to wait until they are level 7 or higher to sacrifice and be effective.

with the soul forge your best results would be using soldiers of kilmorph. these units cost 90 hammers to make but hopefully the idea is to channel them from multiple cities to your main building city. if memory serves you can sacrifice them to add 30 hammers to any non-unit production as a base ability. this turns out to be 40 hammers+any exp they have gained. again , testing my memory i am going to try and list some xp at creation...

3 civics at 2sp per =6xp
training yard =1xp
command post =2xp

thats all i can think of atm.....

hope this helps people....

well, i tried it .... mainly because i am the type that would. when you sacrifice a unit with the immortal promotion they dont come back .... lol

Sounds like you have it worked out. The other important aspect is that the Soul Forge doesn't just include your units. Enemy units that die in its radius feed it too.

The only way to feed the Soul Forge is via a demon alter if you're not at war I think. Which means only the AV can use it to rush wonders and rituals. I won ToM about 50 turns early by sacing my entire army (and several subsequent built units.)
The most I got for one unit was 417 hammers and 299 beakers, from a 350+ xp brujah

what got me thinnking along these lines is i found a wonderful tactic imho....

1 -- play calabim
2 -- set up your agriculture/aristocracy society
3 -- need a min of 1 production city and 1 high food city
4 -- work your way to fuedalism for your vampires
5 -- get deception and build council of esus
6 -- found ashen viel
7 -- as soon as you can make 3 adepts min (pref 1 per city)
8 -- fanatacism for losha (immortal vamps rock)
9 -- ironworking then rage for brujah
10 - use the book to get tech for mardero and make him and the trojen horse
12 - start working for archmages (here is where i was thinking about sacrificing vampires)
13 - run mardero around inside horse converting enemy cities to the viel
14 - archamges allow for unyeiding order (no more unhappy for eating people)
15 - work way toward vamp lords

if you look at it you will see that the techs flow very well in this plan and it allows you to run losha around as a hidden unit. my plan was to wipe out all of a civs units then declare and take the cites. after that i can sac the national vamps to make more hidden ones. long as the vamp has over 170xp he can 1 turn rush his replacement. its all about how much food you can get your cities makeing and wether you can handle the happy's

From my experience, you get less science from sacrificing unit on demons altar than building science... High xp units are too worth to be sacrificed.

Can you please elaborate on making hidden vampires daladinn?
Council of Esus. New wonder that came with .016 that gives each unit built in the city the Hidden promotion.
