SoZ in Fanatazuma or Thunder Falls?

Where should we build the Statue of Zeus?

I voted for TF as the original plan was. Of course in order to speed up production in TF, we need to:

1. Build workers and join them in TF;
2. Improve tiles around TF to maximize production (ignore growth as joined workers should take care of that).

Since the settler in Zoi is almost ready we could build some workers real soon.

Matrix, please, do not try to put your opinion versus mine. You were not elected after all. Just a normal citizen whose point of view has some limited support. And who somehow got to play the game. Which is very strange. IIRC, we have discussed a few times that a non-elected official should not be allowed to play the game including handling of the save files.
What the hell? I played just like Cheetah would've done!!

Man, I'm doing whatever is in my power to get this civ to win! No, less even, cos I could've sent that northern warrior up north, where it should go to! I'm acting as a citizen! I just have a different opinion than you, or Donovan. But don't play it this way. If you want me to quit, go on.

Bullocks! :mad:

Dont get upset Matrix.... Akots treats alot of people like crap in this forum...

The truth of the matter is we're in deep manure given that we don't have iron. Getting SoZ completed as quickly as possible is the only obvious cure for this problem, and it's not that good a cure. The other alternative would be to hope to live long enough that two other teams get eliminated first.

I've spoken.

If the poll agrees to build SoZ in the capital, we would not be able to defend against the attack. Hence I must retire and leave the job of CoMA.

IMHO, the citizens just do not understand the importance of these issues.

I was been entrusted with keeping the defence of our nation in order and if my opinion does not count, then I cannot perform my duties.

You aren't exactly nobility here. We aren't uneducated primatives, either.

Everyone's opinions are equal whether they hold an office or not.

Then do what MP players would do.

City walls on the border, and build horsemen. If not, catapults, and archers. Cats are especially good for defense when a huge stack appears.

Chieftess, you need to come here more often. ;) Although a little more knowledge of the game would help. (Not in this particular post of yours.)

But it's so slow! ;) I wouldn't rely solely on the SoZ to save us though. If C3B knows we don't have iron, and sees us building the SoZ, they WILL get ideas. I've seen it happen.

If Thunder Falls wins out, will we keep the palace as a pre-build until SoZ has one more turn to go? If Fanatazuma wins, same question, with The Pyramids replacing the palace.

If you wanna change the constitution then go the assebaly thread. We need more ideas there anyways.

Matrix and Cheetah(and all of Fanatica), I would like to apologize for my untimely comments. I had no intention of creating any public backlash against Matrix, or to further divide the country. Matrix has in fact played the game properly despite his continued disagreement with that policy. I guess I just got a bit fed up with the continued lack of decorum while presenting his views, but that can be said about anyone on any given day.

And Cheetah, "foolish" and "bolted" were waay too harsh. I just disagree with granting power to a close rival, but then again you are a bit more neutral than I am on these matters. Though I still don't agree with your decision, it was I who was foolish for questioning your judgment.

Let's mend fences while I take a week off to think about my actions. I will be on vacation until the 29th.

No harm done for my part at least. I tend to overlook most such words thinking that it wasn't exactly what the poster wanted to communicate. :p
Have a nice vacation. :)

Now, for the game. I meant to look closer at the SoZ building in a simulation or something, but haven't found time yet. Think I'll try today. Has anyone else done some accurate calculations of where it will be fastest to build it, and what we can get from the other city in the meantime?

Fanatazuma
16 shields in queue.

For the next 3 turns: 6 shields/turn => 18.
Then the worker is done mining.

Next 6 turns: 7 shields/turn => 42.
Then Fanatazuma grows.

The rest: 124 / 8 = 16.

3 + 6 + 16 = 25 turns.

Thunder Falls
21 shields in queue.

For the next 3 turns: 3 shields/turn => 9.
Then Thunder Falls grows.

Next 7 turns: 4 shields/turn => 28.
Then Thunder Falls grows again, and the workers is done.

The rest: 142 / 5 = 29.

3 + 7 + 29 = 39 turns.

Not taken into account: possible corruption! Thunder Falls could grow again to size 5, but then we will definitely have an extra shield lost to corruption.

In short, what we're talking about:
If we build the Statue of Zeus in Fanatazuma we'll gain:
(39 - 25) / 5 = 2.8 Ancient Horsemen, and one veteran instead of regular. (Thunder Falls can't build barracks within 5 turn.)

Edit: I also didn't take into account that the cities can become size 6 by adjusting the lux slider. I only thought of military police. But if they become size 6 the production won't improve much I think.

If the result of a poll of equal, it's the president's call, is it?
Or are these polls always only informative and is it always the president's call?

Ask the Justance f the court but there is nothing in the constitution about a tie. Maybe we should change it?

Well, I'm still undecided about this...

What if we joined workers to Thunder Falls, as someone suggested? Get it to size 5 in 3 turns. How would it look then?

Ok, just did a little calculation. If we join 2 Workers in 3 turns time:

21 shields in queue.
For the next 3 turns: 3 shields/turn => 9.
170 shields left.
170 / 5 = 34
3 + 34 = 37

And that is without any corruption or possibility of not enough developed terrain.
I'd vote for Fanatazuma with what I see here, but still, we could get a couple of JTs and other things out of Fanatazuma while TF builds SoZ...
