Space Race/Colony?

What's the difference between space race and space colony? Both are required for the Machiavelli challenge.

Space race = Vanilla/Warlords. Space colony = BtS version of space race. They're split out because of BtS including travel time, needing more techs, and some other differences making its space race results not really competitive with the other variants.

That's what I thought initally but was then confused again when looking at the tables. Do I need to complete both to become QM?

According to the new QM chart, yes, you have to have both a SR and a SC game win. Check out the HoF tables as well, SC is now, along with Religious, a separate win category.

If you're just shooting for the Vanilla/Warlords division, then no, you'd only need a SR win, as I understand things.
