Space Race Over Rated

I won my first game last night. It was a very anti climactic. The only option you have after building the spaceship is to launch it you cannot go back to the game. No video of it leaving earth or anything..just a simple message that says " You have won the space race" END OF GAME

Try letting one of the other civs win the space race, I've read that something interesting happens then. Just turn off the other ways to win and leave the space race on to force the others to build spaceships, and you can help them by giving them tech.

Yeah, instead of " You have won the space race" END OF GAME ", you get " You have lost the space race" END OF GAME

Seriously, what have you read as the special ending?

Seems odd being a loser gets you a better ending than being a winner

I've heard that there is a space race video, but that it doesn't play unless you loaded up the full install. Unconfirmed by me, but I do plan to reinstall to check it out!

Yeah that sounds funny....that would really suck if they got the cinematic ending. I saved the game before the end so I will help some civ to the space race. I will let you know

There is a nice video for winning the space race. If you didn't see it, it's possible that you clicked the screen or hit space bar to bypass it.

I've won the Space Race and seen the Video - I thought it was pretty damn cool. I did do the full install, so it may very well be that the minimal install does not give you the video.

You mean phallic? Yeah, well thats what the space race is about anyway....not about saving mankind, not about improving lives......just being #1! Being the "biggest" and best
