i remember in an old version of CIV having SPACE that was so fun, if it was done again but we could go further EG go to otehr planets taht would OWN:D :D :D :D :D

i can imagine CIV4 but being able to zoom out more and send space units to other planets and build space stations and colonies on planets.

it would also be cool to put some other things in, like HAARP which controls weather :D (it exists NOW jsut search haarp in google vid or youtube :P) i dont think they can use it fully yet..

i agree.... to a certain extent.

Planets and such would swing to the likings of a game called "Spore".

BUILD YOUR RACE FROM MICROBES TO INTERGALACTIC CONQUERORS.

but i agree, the moon, mars, Io, Titan, Europa, All should be in grasp of civ. you know, to add a future(esq) era

i bet you dont believe me about HAARP :D

search it on google vid or youtube "HAARP"

There could be a Space Age in Civ4 just like in Empire Earth. But then again, aren't there a lot of game just devoted to Civilization-style empire building in space.

P.S. If you can, you might want to bring Sullla here. He is into Master of Orion now.

i think basic would suffice, moon colonization, some starships to fight with, nothing too complex.

It seems quite....complicated and a little unrealistic

its not unrealistic...

i bet in a while there will be space colonies,

the satelites thing is very realistic btw, even controling weather and making disasters in enemy territory

Hey guys its all been done. Covered here on a Pro Grade mod made just before Civ4 came out. Even the weather controling machine makes an apperence.:D Heres more info on the same discusion as it applys to whatever game (civ3 or Civ4)

That's what I call Civilization 3, which is a game I never bought.

what is that?

I call it Civ Perfection. You may call it a modern age thats done up to represent the space age a lil more on the real. The advancement lines are on the pedia page. Sorry for the guy who never got Civ3. he missed out on a lot of better stuff then what came in the box. I can't play Civ3 ether. I only like the gameboard under heavy pro modder make up. THis version shown is the Balancer Reloaded. One of the few add-ons that make Civ3 better then 4

I was even going to get CivChronicles for Christmas, but in the end, I decided against it and got CivCity: Rome (which was a GREAT game until I ran into some bugs) and Sid Meier's Railroads (which I am TRYING to get myself to play more of). My parents even took the family on a vacation near the Great Smokey Mountains in North Carolina and didn't allow me to take Civilization 4: Warlords with me so that I could try to get into those games.

Civ City Rome sounds quality. you should try RFRE for the Civ3 game board. If you like history you'll love this game. Its refined over about two years the depth of the pedia makes for a great read. I enjoy the HBO series much more since completing it ;)

CHronicles is a nice deal if your missing 2 and 3. Civ3 is only good as a console for playing the full epic random mods or a few polished scenaios that take the original game to a new level, ironing out all the flaws like corruption and even infamous city splatter.
Theres even news ways to win by obtaining stategic resources, some more rare then others, to build a global economic monoply. "Silk road, Anno Dominni" (4 era ancient times mod)

Balancer Reloaded in particular has a nice flow for a space age by pressin the modern into post industrial. Though all era are expanded to the fullest with over 800 units(lots of unique units for all 31 Civs, even cultural mechs!)
*again, the advancment lines are in the pedia with full text discribing each and every last detail and its historic importance the space age entries are very well crafted, filling out a exicting time that makes 'end game' something toactually look forward to (if you got the production capicity and science output to reach that high). Civ4 could learn from this rich text support and futuristic late game flow.

Who here has Civilization Chronicles?
I don't want leave ya hanging
I got some bad news to that degree. "Desprate Housewives The Game" beat the 'Chronics' soundly in sales, but im a bit curious for the sales slip on Civ Complete sets. I bet that product outsold Chronicles by hundreds of thousands-not counting Mac.

Its the mod drive and admittidly whomever cash lacks, that drive 'Complete' paks out the door. that, and whatever went wrong with CIv4, that makes em' want to see what Fireaxis left on the cutting room floor. (old artillary, freedom of trade, enourmous maps, more civs etc)

Anyway back to space, heres some of that....

I think you should be able to colonize Mars and maybe another planet and research up to the point where there is robot soldiers but thats it. A bigger game would take up a lot of data and take forever.

SO your in agreence with Diagram one? I believe what some think is sci Fi the most advanced G's are working on as we speak. Its safe to say that around 2030-2050 when Civ has you coloizing other planets, that some other cool gear to the likes you suggest will be in play.

This is why I displayed that modern era. Its gives credibilty to the techline where your leaving the universe in a Interplantantery party capsule(loading it up in using space ladder)

Does anyone really think they'd those same tanks we have today(advanced armour) runnin around in those days....this mod said no to that and giant death robots (its a fine line to whats to super sci fi and whats really possible. Take a look at this my friends...
