I've been having a problem for the last few turns in my game. I was at war with the Incans. I had MAs with the other civs against them, but I started getting pissed off when the Celts were shuffling a lot of units around in my new territories. I pressed and held the shift button to make it go faster, but when I released the shift key, everything kept moving fast, including my own units. Did I inadvertantly hit a button or something? Because now every time I open the game, the units move around really fast. It's not really a problem, but I just think it looks better when I can see al the units move instead of just where they end up.

Well, if you tripped the caps lock key, that will make the units move quicker too.

Or it could just be that holding the shift key down filled up the keyboard buffer. But I didn't think the shift key could do that.

Pressing caps lock is like holding the "Shift" key down (except you don't have to hold caps lock down). Shift key is the same thing as "Don't animate enemy moves." (in your preferences.)
