game speed is one of the basic problems of civ. why the game is too slow?
when I move a large stack of units with "move stack" action, every single unit moves independently. at this time I can eat my sandwich but why wait?
one other problem: as far as i observed, all AI units wake up every turn and at the end of the turn they fortify. this consumes time very much. please, developers, create a better algorithm.
one more: civ information system (I don't know whether you call it like this) that informs us about events like civil disorder. for a huge civilization, if under democracy and goes to war, civil disorders start at the same time. then the map centers on every single city that has civil disorder. this sometimes takes up to 2 minutes.
instead of this, i have an idea: let there be a news ticker, similar to that in simcity 3000. all events are shown there, important ones are highlighted with red etc. listing some string does not eat much time i thing.
