So, I used the Byzentines for a good start close to coast, right? Well, turns out, the starting location was so buff... 2 wines, 1 gold, and the 3 hills and rest grass land for the city radius... Well, I also got a SGL when I got Philosophy, which allowed me to get Literacy and finish the GL at the next turn... Anyways, for some reason, though only getting 3 or 4 techs from the GL, I am ahead of everybody in tech... ONE CITY!!!

You drew an extreamly good start with 2 food bonuses, a lux, gold, and on the coast. Not to mention pulling in the SGL. But it won't last, eventually the AI will have 10x the cities you do, and that means 10x the income.

It's alot easier to stay infront of everyone in the AA with once city then it is in the Middle Ages onward.

Good luck!

How does OCC work, I haven't tried one. (alittle scaried) Do the computers get only one city, or do you get bonuses in your only city?

no, the human player, you, will be limited to one city... How will you do that? Willpower baby :P

Anyways, I am not sure if I could even do good on this... I mean, I've never won a normal game on Regent, not to mention FCC or OCC...

Well having the GL helps out immensly. I'd try to snag the Colossus since you're on a coast as well, in an OCC this Wonder is as good if not better to get then the GL do to the long shelflife.

I'm guessing you're going for either 20k or diplo, after that it's just a matter of keeping everyone happy & good trading to keep up.

Status update... 2 of the 10 civs caught up with me... The Dutch is like, 3 or 4 techs infront of me... I rush teched and snatched the Observatory... Its been difficult aquiring any tech as it is and its even harder to rush tech anything cause I just sold out for Chemistry...others have stupid Metalurgy... Tech trading is getting harder and harder :(

Try taking diffeent research paths than the AI. Another option is to gift some of the backwards AI techs to make them trading partners.

My experience with OCC is that you have to go into it resigned to the fact that you will trail in tech. If you have the Great Library, you can stop researching and save your gold for buying improvements inbetween wonders. When you get a tech from the GL you sell it to the civs that don't have it yet. That establishes you as a tech trader and prevents the leaders from selling it too them.

After the library expires, you will be buying all you techs from the AI. If you are lucky, you can buy a tech once 2 civs know it and sell it to the others to try and break even. The non-important techs can wait until all other civs have it so you can buy it really cheap.

Pay lump sum when possible, but the techs get expensive after awhile and you need a good reputation so you can pay per turn.
