Starting locations??

I'm not sure if this is a bug or just sloppy programming, so I decided to test it. I played 10 games on the basic settings, on continents.

8 out of the 10 games all of the Civs were on the same landmass.

Is anyone else seeing this?

are you playing on terra map?

Thought I read somewhere that on continent maps at least one continent is left unoccupied, so as to be discovered later as a "new world".
If you only have two large continents then everyone gets crammed onto the one.

that's terra, not continents.

If you play a custom game and select custom_continents map you can set how many civs there will be on each continent and how many continents there will be.
