Stealth Bomber problem (can't see boats)

I've got some Stealth Bombers in a city, and I want to bomb some enemy boats. The problem is that when I select the bomber then the boats disappear and I can't attack them. If I select one of my land or sea units then I can see the boats, but they disappear again if I switch back to the bomber (with the bomber selected I see their fighters, but no ships). It's really weird.

Also it came on slowly. A couple turns ago I was able to bomb their boats, then one turn one stack of them disappeared so I bombed the other. Now this turn they are all 'invisible' to my bombers.

I know they are actually there because I just attacked with one of my ships, so it's just a bug with the bombers. Really annoying, I'd like to be able to use my bombers to wear down their stack of ships instead of doing it one at a time with my ships.

Anyone have this problem before? I tried a couple searches, didn't see anything about it. Tried saving and reloading the game, didn't help.

Went to the next turn and I could bomb their ships...with like 3 bombers. Then the ships disappeared again.

You should post a save file, and PM a mod to move this thread to the CIV bugs forum.

Q: Do you have a Line of Sight of the units you are trying to bomb? ie, are the units you are trying to bomb covered in the Fog or do you have a "spotter" nearby that can see the units when you are trying to bomb them?

This is a possibility........the unit your bombing is a sub in a stack of naval vessels cause the AI will use the unit it thinks can most defend the stack....sometimes when I bomb ships the same thing happens....since the only unit to actually see the sub is another sub or destroyer, your bomber will not see the sub......or I could be totally wrong.
My advice just keep bombing when the sub gets to its max damage from bombing, other units will appear to take the hit.

Apparently there is some kind of limit to how much damage you can do with bombers. There is a stack of Modern Armors next to a city of mine, I can use my Stealth Bombers on them a few times, but only until they are all down to 20 out of 40 health. Once they get to half health I can't bomb them anymore.

Is this an undocumented 'feature' or a bug?
