stealth on land units

i have noticed that some units have stealth but they are not air units.
all i have heard is that stealth effects air units... does it have any effects on land?

giving a unit hidden ID = they dont know its you

is there a way to "make them not see you" until one of their units get close enough "in range of sight or radar"?

no, i dont want invisible.. that isnt the effect i want... unless i want to give all default units see invisi.

It makes them completely invisible unless you get units that can detect invisible units.

wait,... thats ivisible.. there is an option called ivisible along with stealth...

Stealth gives the unit the ability to select the unit to attack.

if i dont have the stealth attack flaged, i dont think i can get that option

i am mainly talking about the stealth option in unit abilities.
there you can check foot unit, draft, hidden nation., invisible ect.

but without checking the stealth attack but giving it stealth properties do anything?

Stealth does not make the unit "ivisible" nor does it hide who it belongs too. What Stealth does for the units is give only 5% chance of being attacked by an enemy unit set to "Air Superiority Mission"

yea.. i can see it now...

i will throw the land unit into the air and bombard my enemy...

by setting stealth, the enemy aircraft will have only a 5% chance of intercepting my little guy hurling through the air..
