Stereo voice when meeting new faction?

This feels like a bug but I can't seem to reproduce it reliably.

When an AI faction makes planetfall, they hail us to say hi. It is at this time that the game will play two pieces of audio at the same time: the one that usually is played when we go hail them during the game for deals etc, then the second piece of audio that would normally be played when we first meet (i.e. speaking not in English bot in their native tongue).

This doesn't happen all the time, but only in some of the games. Even in the games when it happens, it doesn't happen to all the AI factions, only some of them. There doesn't seem to be a pattern.

Anyone have the problem?

EDIT: CORRECTION to the problem. The double audio doesn't occur at first hail, it occurs later on when AIs hail me to ask for a trade, it seems.

It seems to happen consistantly to me - maybe because I exit their very first diplomacy screen.

Do you always ESC out of those first time diplo screens or do you say goodbye to them using the buttons? I do a mix of that. Maybe that has something to do with it?

I usually use ESC so it so quickly that the game can't even load the whole screen... :D

Okay...let me start a few new games and try the "proper" way of saying good-bye. :D

Nope...no matter what I try now I can't get it to go stereo. Using ESC, using Enter, using mouse click...

My guess is that it's got something to do with threaded processing? What's your hardware like? Have you got an SSD? Mine's running on a traditional HDD.

I figured it might just be a bug that causes the first voiceover to stay "queued" or something when you exit the screen too fast and then the next time the diplo screen opens the game just plays two sound files at once. :x

Got an AMD 1090T hexcore, Creative X-FI, traditional HD

I have disabled planetfall animations, too. Might play into that.
