Still having problems

You could try to disable the usb host control and run the game.
If that doesnt work, you could then try to uninstall the usb controler altogether then let windows plug n play re install on reboot.

What was the exact wording of the last bsod you got?
 
Well. Tonight I am going to go buy a 3.5 GHz 65 bit processor with a mobo to match. Gonna get a nVidia PCIexpress Video card. We shall see if CIV will play on that. I will let you know soon.

All it took was and AMD64 3500 processor, an ASUS SLi Deluxe mobo and a nvidia 6600 OC. I played civ for 3 hours no problems. On the biggest map size and max computer players it was a bit slow, but no crashes!

I knew that it was a problem that i just needed to throw some money at!
