stone a new bounus resource?

Just like the title says..
I was playing a duel on a tiny map and where i settled my map i had a few resources I thought one was marble, but the thing looked funny. I hovered over it and sure enough it said stone, and in the strategic map it said it was a bonus resource. Im a noob and have only played 5 or so games but I cant find it in the civilopedia either.. Is this new or am I just stupid- or most likely both?

Aah, no. It is a new resource that was patched in, but it was patched in only a couple of months ago, not almost a year back. It's a bonus resource that is improved with a quarry, allows construction of a Stone Works (New building) that provides +1 happiness

I am certain all the patch additions (stone, aqueduct, El Dorado, et al) got civilopedia entries in the game itself. Does the OP mean they can't find mention of stone in the PDF manual?

Yeah I couldn't find any mention of stone as a resource or of that building. Just curious. Thanks for clearing that up

No problem. Did you use the 'Search' function? I sometimes can't find something if I don't use the search

It's mentioned in the Civilopedia under 'resources', no need to use the search
