New August 1, 2005: Stone Roads (Railroads) Version 3 preview and download on post #29

I have made a second version of my stone roads, the roads are not as broken as in version 1 (see post #2 for version 1).

Version 2 download is here is post #1.

It should work for Conquests if you place it in this folder:
C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Art\Terrain

If by chance you also have a roads file in:
C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Conquests\Art\Terrain
You can replace it there as well.

Example: If you only want to run it in a Scenario like the Rise of Rome, then place it in that Scenario terrain folder:
C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Conquests\Conquests\Rise of Rome\Art\Terrain

Goes in:

C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Art\Terrain

Don't forget to backup original.

Edit Aug 19/04:
A couple things, first rename the file roads because the name of the file I posted is stone roads.

It is very nice, but IMO the stones should be closer together you know. :D

Well then make them 0 pixels apart! :p :joke: Its OK, after five times looking a them they look OK; its not like I could do any better anyway! :smug:

Nice roads for a Roman scenario. Y'know, if you were to use a yellow filter on them, then you could have the Yellow Brick Road. Of course, if you actually DID that, then I'd have to make an Emerald City.

I actually was also thinking that this would be the roadset for a Rome scenario. :yeah:

:goodjob:

Looks great! :)
They really would fit in the rome scenario.

Have you ever thought about making the railroads into highways? That'd be cool...

Is there any way to replace the default Firaxis roads in the epic games with this stone road?
Do I have to rename the file and then place into to the terrain file? Do I have to have flicster or something similar to do that?
Is there a tutorial on how to do that?
I'd appreciate any help.

First just go into this folder and rename the "roads" file "backup roads"

C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Art\Terrain

Then place the new roads file into the same folder:

C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Art\Terrain

The next time you start an epic game you will have the new roads.

AHA! Thank you, Pounder! These look great! So much better than the Firaxis version!

Where can i found the roads for conquest? I've changed it in the normal civ3 folder but it doesn't work for conquest.
