So Korea was running away with the technology lead in my recent Immortal-level game. Due to this I started to plan a long war to capture their capital and prevent them from winning the space race. This worked (but I got nuked four times - man the AI can be destructive). After capturing their capital with one space part left to contribute, I sued for peace thinking I was safe. Nope. 20 turns or so later, they win a space race victory!?! So lesson learned - I guess their spaceship progress jumps from capital to capital as they are losing their war. Next time I'll need to finish them off completely.

Anyone else experience this?

Yeah If I played vanilla enchanched mod other then that AI wasn't close at winning space
race.

To stop the space race capture the spaceship parts or drop a nuke where they are then they lose them haha

1) Really? If you loose your capital the game ends immediately???? I had no idea....

2) Yeah, i found a space ship part and nuked it....:))) That was actually kind of fun :) then I proceeded to knock them out of the game. I would suggesting taking out (nuke or capture) any high production cities. this should keep them from finishing the space race.

Of course if you lose your capital, the game ends immediately.

No that is not the case. It only happens if the capital was your last city or if all other capitals were captured by your opponent aka Domination victory.

You can place lots of units around the enemy´s capital so the spaceship parts can´t get in it. (As far as I know doesn´t the AI drop nukes at their own territory) You may have high losses but it works...
