I have Civ 3 PTW, it is purchased from Gamespy hitpoints so I have no CD just the downloaded install file. I have the patch 1.29f (I think) and I have a very strange issue.
Any game, no matter what, when a city is destroyed or taken over the entire civilization is destroyed. I have re-installed and re-applied the patch (which it doesnt run at all without the patch) and the same issue occurs. It doesnt matter if I attack an enemy city or if they attack me. Defeat one city and the rest fall.
On one hand, it makes the game easier to beat. I find my neighbor, build a stack of doom, walk up to their newest city, declare war and beat them in one fell swoop. On the other hand, occasionally it happens to me too, and when Im in the middle of a 2 day game, that sucks ass.
Any ideas?

That was designed for specific multi-player scenarios.
