Strategy or Bounty?

i am still in favour of hitting the choke point over the food in almost every instance.But then I have always been one to build out and back fill later. (always play modded games)

Aside from the caveat mentioned earlier, I would agree with you, and I also play on modified maps, where food is less critical than the standard game. I guess I have yet to see a game when blocking the AI from an area was a bad idea. However, I do not go all out expanding. I think the largest city total that I have had where I built the city, not including ones that I have taken is about 25 or so.
