For all those who might use this as a nice tip: :crazyeye:
One might use this idea of making the 1st train go in a circle (attatchment). this way 2 thiings happen: 1. The train stops in each town, 2. Money's accumulated faster. Each of the stops can start a new track (double).
Enjoy

consider me years behind the times, but I just purchased this game last night (well worth the $20 investment).

How would I make one train go around this circle picking up/dropping off in each town? I've only so far learned how to run trains between two cities.......and I think maybe three at the most.

That strategy works good for commuter trains(only mail and passengers), but I think you'd need something a bit more complex for most everything else.
I generally use triangles. One stop will be to pick up raw material(I.E. coal, corn, etc.), the second would be to exchange the raw material for finished goods. Finally, the last stop would be to deliver the final goods. Commuter trains I keep on a seperate rail.

Also, does anyone know how to grow villages into metropolitan areas in the Northeastern Campaign?

This is close to a year old, but the answer to your question is as follows: just deliver goods it demands, and it will grow over the course of time. If it is small enough to only require one good (i.e. Ore,) then that's all you've got for now. If it's a bit bigger, passengers and mail are easier to send multiple loads quickly. I'm not sure if that matters by way of growth rate, but it can't hurt.

Hope that helps.
