Strategy when isolated

Spoiler T80 :

T37 Buddhism is discovered. That feels completely unreal for me.
I went 2 workers before settler, there is stuff to be done and as I'm shooting for GLH I rather not settle on the good spot (1S of elephants) before sailing as I have no connection. Settlement 1E of pigs looks ok too, but I want to delay AH.
Somewhere here I also take note that the health situation isn't that good. Might have to save a few forests in cities w/o freshwater.
Setting the workers to farm-chop, that will be ready in good sync with sailing.
Civ4ScreenShot0001.JPG

Some coast-working to get sailing done in time, I got overflow comming in next turn.
Civ4ScreenShot0003.JPG

Farm-chops drop in. Now the workers move to the two hills and repeat the process.
Civ4ScreenShot0004.JPG

Setting up a worker to be whipped with maximum overflow to get started on GLH.
It could be that this whip actually delayed GLH by a turn, as I was working mines fewer turns, but it got me another worker and then one of the two others could go mine the copper.
Civ4ScreenShot0007.JPG

Every forest around the capital is down, and GLH is in! Now I can enjoy the normal stinking cesspool of a capital. :)
After masonry, I go for Poly->Mono, it doesn't seem like the AIs care much for religion, and with a SPI leader I think it would be really nice.
Civ4ScreenShot0009.JPG

And I do get judaism too.
Now, why is this really nice? Because getting a holy city gives me really good odds on natural spread, and that way I won't have to worry too much about fixing a religion and spreading it around later on.
With a spi leader I can jump into the religion w/o anarchy, getting a extra happines, and if I go for pristhood I also have half-price temples for even more happines.
Getting a heathen religion is less problematic diplomatically, as it's easy to jump in and out of the civics you need and into free religion (or go fully non-religious pagan).

Next up is TW->Pottery, need to connect that corn and get up granaries. I also want to connect the marble, I want 3 offshore and 3 onshore cities asap to get 2+2+2 in every city too.
Civ4ScreenShot0010.JPG

The settler that was on it's way to the crabs have to settle a foodless island. +18 gold per turn turns into +29 gpt at settlement.
An evil archer gibbed a warrior I had on that hilled tundra forest without losing a single HP, so I make two more in that other fish/copper city with a chop.
Civ4ScreenShot0011.JPG

T80, now I have to think abit.
Going for an academy is ruled out entierly, way too late libraries for that. And there is not 3 cities that can support libraries either, at least not yet.
So what I need to plan for is 2 GScis before say.. T150.
I really want to get them from other cities then capital, because getting a GMerch would be inconvenient.
So the first crunchtime is here.. A GMerch is spawning in 29 turns. And if I start two scientists in another city it takes 17 turns for a GSci to spawn.
So I have 12 turns to get a city ready with a library and being ready to run two scientists for 17 turns.
Oh, and this city has whipped a settler at 39/100, to get a settler and to get good overflow into ToAr.
Civ4ScreenShot0013.JPG

And that basically have to be this poor city.
Healthcap is at 5 now. With granary and the crab I could get up to 7 which combines nice with the happy-cap once I get the ivory connected.
So I don't really want to chop down the forests.
Perhaps I have enough time to whip both granary and library and regrow enough in 12 turns...?
I kind of want to go for AH and possibly also Pristhood before writing too.
AH for that pig alone is good, as at least 3 cities can benefit from the pig, one of which is already settled.

@sampsa
Spoiler :

Yeah, I don't think missing out on the fish (and the lake!) is good. Getting those extra early coins helps alot. I was suprised at how good it was to go fishing first. When I started to contemplate it, I thought I would sacrifice some production but I think it turned out quite close.

@Qactus
I don't think you could have found a map more suited for GLH? Perhaps if we had even more seafood in capital to justify the lighthouse, and perhaps being rosevelt? :)

Spoiler warning, 1 AI revealed.
Spoiler T134 :

Well.. This is the problem with failgold when the AIs are sleeping at the wheel. :|
I now have 1851 hammers into SoZ and parthenon, I have just reached machinery and have 1355 beakers left. (Compass+Optics).
At 150 bpt @ 100% thats 9 turns, and that would cost 670 gold.

Built GLib+Natepic down in Tolosa, had to whip out natepic in Vienne and then whip to comletion in tolosa too, at a premature time, to get at least some failgold to get research going.
I'm not sure I have been in a situation where I first go for GLH and then for the marble wonders, but something that I hadn't thought about was that it's probably ill adviced to build GLib in the city where you have GLH (Gmerch pollution), so thats why I had to build it down there. Probably better spot though, but it was slower.
Civ4ScreenShot0038.JPG

Probably have to whip out parthenon somewhere now to get some cash fast. Something I should probably have done alot of turns ago, but I didn't stop and take stock of just how much hammers I had invested.
Took a detour to tech alpha to see if I could get something from Shaka too, but only got math so far.

Spoiler T143 :

I set max hammers in Vienne and finish parthenon in one turn. The next turn I can set research to 100% with the aid of the failgold.
And NOW they build SoZ. :D
Civ4ScreenShot0000.JPG

More failgold raining in, and GSci #3 spawns.
Civ4ScreenShot0001.JPG

Optics at T143. Won't wait for any calendar trade but just self-tech and bulb astro shortly.
The eastern caravel is loaded with a scout, and the western one I placed a missionary in, I'll drop him of at shakas place and bribe shaka to enter organized religion then he will probably spread that around abit himself, and having him on friendly terms is always nice.
The caravel will then make a detour home again and pick up a scout I think.
