i've noticed that i'm not the only person with audio/video stuttering problems. My stuttering problem happens during the intro movie and wonder movies. i'm sure there has been posts like this before and i looked through this forums for a while now but couldnt find any answers. Can somebody please help?

Depends on your spec mainly what the graphics card is and how much RAM you have installed as to what you can do. You could also download the low-res movies from the Civ4 website or just turn them off in the options.

You could try the following changes to the Civ4.ini file,
; Don't skip frames if falling behind
BinkNoSkip = 0
; Copy entire image each frame, not just dirty pixels
BinkCopyAll = 0
; Show movies using hi-color, not true-color (may be faster)
Bink16Bit = 1
; Copy ever other scanline during movie playback (faster)
BinkInterlace = 0
; Allow Screenshots. May affect performance on some video cards
AllowScreenShots = 1

If you have any options in the 'Display' control panel for the graphic card then look here also to see if there is any settings for increasing performance or if it has a 'performance' setting rather than a 'Quality' setting.
Nvidia cards have their own control panel in the 'Advanced' settings in the Display panel, not sure about ATI ones though.

Hope it helps.

How are your movies stuttering? When my intro and wonder movies play, it's like the top half of the movie is fine but the bottom half is all laggy and stuttering. Is it just me with this type of stuttering problem?

They don't. With those settings in my previous post and my current spec, every plays as it should with no problems. When I first got Civ4, I had 512mb of RAM and 128mb FX5200 card and the movies skipped all over the place. The whole movie froze for a second then it plays a few frames then stops again, rinse and repeat. The game itself played pretty much fine until the later stages. Since upgrading and the latest patches, everything is sorted.

If you're still getting problems, post your spec and see if all your video drivers are up to date also.

Oh, your problems were really similar to mine. Right now I have 1 GB of RAM but I'm not sure what my other specs are (I'm really nooby with computers). How do I post my specs? Is it this?:View attachment DxDiag.txt

I think you will be struggling all day with your Intel integrated video chipset. Although it has a video memory for around 250mb, it takes it directly from the system memory. Alot of these chipsets struggle with a game built on such a scale like Civ4 like not displaying the terrain or choppy movies. If it is only the videos you're having problems with I would just turn them off or try the low-res ones. You're not really missing all that much anyway imho.
