I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing this with Civ4.
Things are more or less fine if I stay in a particular screen. Animated combat with multiple men representing the unit is fine, but as soon as you pan around, the frame rate drops enough that things start stuttering. I'm running an AMD2500+/1GB/Radeon 9000, which IMO there isn't a 3D model in that game the card couldn't handle.
Also, the game gets more sluggish as you progress, and quitting and reloading doesn't seem to be a problem.
I'm thinking someone used some inefficient algorithm/data structure when they wrote Civ4, and now it's just sucking the CPU dry. Anyone agrees?
