The game and the graphics work just fine. When I produce a Great Wonder, I get a stuttering sound effect. Im using the NForce 2 chipset for sound. Any other folks out there w/ the same issues? Possible solutions?

I had that problem the first time I played. After reinstalling drivers for my Radeon 9800 Pro and SB Live! Value cards, it went away. Then the next time after that, the stuttering problem was back.

I've got this problem too... I have an Nvidia GeFroce FX 5700 Ultra and SoundBlaster Audigy 2. Everything else about my game works fine, only having stuttering issues with the vids. My girlfriend is ALSO having the problem and she has an ATI card and onboard sound card.. so I don't know what the heck is causing it.

edit: for what it's worth we both have 1 gig of ram, and processors around 3ghz in speed.

Is the opening sequence before a game, (while the game is being generated) supposed to be a slide show or a fluid animation? It's a narrated slide show for me.

Same problem here.

I read in another post that if you disable Sound Hardware Acceleration in dxdiag, it clears it up for many. I will try that tonight.

Other than choppy sound during wonder movies, game play is great with a GeForce2 MX400 64MB video card @ full graphics settings. No need to spring for an expensive card.

Good luck!

When running on older AMD 64 dual-core CPUs, my video skips - my machine is really fast, why is this happening?

There is a bug in the Windows system timer code when running on some older AMD CPUs. The easiest way to work around it is to edit your c:\boot.ini file with Notepad, and add the switch "/usepmtimer" (without the quotes) onto the end of the Windows lines under the [operating systems] section, and then reboot. This problem is fixed in Windows XP SP2 and doesn't happen in Vista.
