Fooling aroud after a space victory on Monarch, I launched all my nukes at mostly England. Next turn another 2 ICBMs finished so I launched one at England's last big city. THe other I dropped on my own non-capital city.

Once that was through, it was my automated workers' turns. But as one worker went along my railroad, it fell over and DIED when it tried to go into a city. This is my own city, far away from the self-inflicted nuke. After some more automated moves, another worker came along to the same city, again trying to go thru it. Worker falls on its side in a death animation.

Does anyone know what happened? Normally I can't kill workers (especially my own) except if they are in the immmediate area of a nuke.

I've had the smae problem . I conducted some tests , and came up with this

7 workers , all died
one elite infantry , died
one radar artillery , died

Later , when I drafted one infantry in the nuked city , the problem was solved . Also , after nuking , it showed one of my infantry in the city .

the game sometimes gets confused and attacks your own units. i've had a full transport sunk by my carrier, and infantry killed while entering a city. emptying the city will solve the problem.

One of my automated workers once tried to attack my own city. It then fell over and died.

I play on the oldest version (I've been playing this since the week of release). I used to find occasionally my workers would run into my own cities only to be repelled by units stationed there.
Since I've upgraded my computer this hasn't happened. Reinstalling the program made no difference. Maybe they owed money to the wrong people?
