suomipeli

Mun ajatuksena oli, että ennen vuoroaan kukin laittaa suunnitelman, jossa kerrotaan about mitä tuotetaan, mitä worker tekee, techpath jne. jne. Yksityiskohtaisus oman harkinnan mukaan. Ennen pelaamista odotellaan jonkin aikaa tiimin kommentteja.

Jaa-a siinä tapauksessa voisi järjestystä muuttaa, kerran Sampsa ei ennen su pelaa. RobertFin pääsee näyttämään taitonsa.

No, itseasiassa ajattelin tempon olevan aika paljon hitaampi. Ainakin tänään voin pelata.

To moderator who's gonna destroy our fun game: We are not planning to do some nasty things, just speaking our own language!!

OMG! The Fins are taking over!

Rob, I will warn you though that this is an English only forum and the mods do enforce it.

Pitäiskö muuten sopia, minkä verran aktiivisen pelaajan pitää odottaa muitten panosta? Vai vetääkö kukin kuten tykkää (mikä tuntuis aika tylsältä).

En ymmärtänyt kysymystä, voitko selventää. Settler 2 itään on hyvä spotti.

Well if Sampsa can play now, I won't change the order. No rush, but if we get it going I see no reason to slow down (provided with pre-play-plans are discussed).

Aarrgghh!! They found us guys! Let's change to english! Lymond, this must be a misunderstanding :)! We won't speak suomi if its against the forum rules. Btw, I was thinking of joining to SGOTM with this team if they're interested. We'll play this first so we could be ready for #19.

Some criticism on scouting: I think think you should have headed north rather than south with the scouting warrior, as it was mentioned that we are on the southern hemisphere. It's important to find AIs and locate possible blocking cities quickly. AIs on emperor don't start with a worker (right?), so at least it didn't cost us an opportunity to steal a worker. Anyway I think we should have discussed about these things before playing. Otherwise :goodjob: and it's nice that our warrior is alive.

Without opening the save, this looks like one of those snaky pangaea fractal maps, with us in the far west (= all AIs located in the east, behind Mansa). Hard to be sure yet, of course.

Opening the save and coming up with a plan now.

edit. Espionage verifies that Mansa has met someone else, and is putting 2 espionage on us per turn.

I think next tech should be pottery to cottage those fp's asap. We have tons of hammers and nothing to put them into (well, except workers and settlers) but no sources of commerce. Pretty sure we should go for Oracle, but that can be decided later.

Worker to cow first, then to sheep then to cottage fp's of course.

Scouting warrior moves along the coast towards east. 2nd warrior comes in 8 turns and he should head east too, following the southern coast perhaps.

Pottery is done in 10, so maybe I should play until that and then pass the game for the next player?

Comments on the plan?

edit. builds are warrior-warrior. I think we should grow to size 4 before settler.

What I meant was - should the active player wait until everyone agrees on the plan? Maybe it would be ok to play after two other team members have given the plan a thumbs up.

Yeah, we're food-poor and commerce-poor at the start, so pottery could be the right call. This start doesn't really look like an oracle start for me, but it's not deity so we might get away with it. What to oracle, MC maybe?

Need to see the land in the east to decide the 2nd city. Judging by the screenshot, the gold-fish site might be good for our economy, and we have elephants so elepult is an option.

btw if we decide to settle a lot of coastal cities, GLH could be worth it. At least we have woods for chopping.

edit: Don't forget to half-build a road on the way to FP.

Agree with the techpath and plans. My first thought was mining->BW, but slavery and chops are not useful if you have nothing to build. It is going take quite a while to grow to size four since we do not have any tiles with more that 3 :food: if we cottage the floodplains. With cottages on flood plains our maximum :food: surplus before CS is 7 which isn't that great.

I hope there will be a good second city spot in the east since Mansa came from there and we can probably settle the southern lands without worrying about losing city spots to the AI.

I don't usually go for oracle (can't even remember when I last built it) because failing to get the wonder means lots of wasted beakers that could have been used for some other techs. But if you have more experience about that, we can try to build it since we have marble.

Also based on the current exploration, the possible coastal city with clams that I marked should be 1N because there is probably metal at the PH 3W of Uruk.

2nd city to the fp-area should also not be ruled out. We should be expanding towards them, if possible anyway. Also, our capital might pass those cottages to another city when grown and focus on hammers. Further scouting will give more info.

Well, Oracle should be easy to get anyway and it pays back pretty good. Don't know where else we going to put those early hammers anyway. ;) I think oracle tech should not be MC (not much immediate value, and trade value is not that important since they tech slow on emperor), but maybe currency for sheer economic power or aesthetics if we want to build all the shiny stuff. Would be boring but strong imo. Not liking CoL much with a creative civ.

Sounds like I have two thumbs up, so should I proceed to play until pottery is finished?

I think you should play on and scout east. I think we agree on the tech choice and except for that there aren't really that many decisions to make this early.

@OtsoMaki yes, missing the Oracle sucks, but if you start to build it early enough the AIs won't even bother trying to build it. The payback of the Oracle is very good anyway, although I'm not in love with the GProphet points. It's been ages since I last player emperor, but something like 1600BC should be relatively safe?

Playing now.

I don't think aesth is a good oracle tech. It's as cheap as alpha and the wonders it gives are mostly good for just failgold, at least Schwedagon and Zeus-statue. Though we will have ivory, marble and gold to use for failgolding.

Early currency could be nice. CoL isn't so good to Sumeria thanks to our UB.
