I bought the update online and it only works for single player not multiplayer.... Why???

Why is the scenarios tab still grayed out in the online game menu...

any ideas are greatly appreciated

This is because the purchasable content is not available to play online. It is not available because it has to be purchased to be used, therefore if someone doesn't have it, the game might crash.
